Proverbs 9:7-12

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;
  whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.
Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you;
  rebuke the wise and they will love you.
Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;
  teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
  and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For through wisdom your days will be many,
  and years will be added to your life.
If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
  if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer. (NIV)

One thought on “Proverbs 9:7-12”

  1. Christ said not to Cast our pearls before swine (Mat7vs6), yet Jude says we ought to “earnestly contend for the faith” (1vs3). St Paul said to avoid vain babblings (2tim2vs16), to “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ…” (Col2:8), Yet he also says “Preach the word. Be instant In season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine…” (2Tim4vs2).
    We are Soldiers for Christ.
    Paul says… “10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
    11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
    16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
    (Eph 6vs10-18).
    Thus it appears to me that we are soldiers in a battle between Truth and lies, light and darkness, and we must fight the good fight, and never be too lazy, too pc, too concerned about being popular, or be too cowardly to stand up and testify of our faith…. yet we ought to wisely see that sometimes… when we are faced with those children of the Devil… with reprobate minds… that we ought to walk away….and Pray for them.
