This came to mind today…
Martin Luther said, “Sometimes it is necessary to drink a little more, play, jest, or even commit some sin in defiance and contempt of the devil in order not to give him an opportunity to make us scrupulous about trifles.” In other words, “don’t sweat the small stuff.” I think I would pledge my allegiance and take the consequences.
… and this…
Luke 16:10
He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.”
Brilliant!
If he was theologically incorect about the small stuff, how much larger does the problem become with the big stuff?
I have found that you have no need to worry about small matters. Do not get upset when the toilet seat is left up, you have to do the dishes, (when it is not your turn), life is so much easier when everyone living in the same house can cooperate, but if they dont just ignore their bad behaviour and keep praying. It has worked for me, why worry and get upset because someone didnt speak to you the way you wanted. You can take all your cares and worries to the Lord.
