Life and Death. Hope and Happiness. A Tribute to Rev John Steele Clark. (Re-post)

Copy of gd18

In 16 minutes it will be the 8th anniversary of my Grand Father, John Steele Clark’s death.
He was a wonderful and inspirational person.
The Greatest human being I have ever known.
I was blessed beyond measure to have him as my Granddad.
I have not seen my own father since I was 5 years old and yet this loss was greatly mitigated by my Grandfathers Love and guidance.

I miss him, and still reverence his memory.
When I knew his time was short I did something a tad different.
I wrote a Tribute to his Life and death and sent it to him before he died so he could read with his own eyes what his Grandson thought! šŸ™‚
My tribute was very controversial as it was *My take* *My perspective* rather than simply a concise record of his exact doings and faith.
That was another reason I sent it to him… to see if he would discuss what I had written.
We never did discuss it, and so I took that as a Tacit endorsement! šŸ™‚ And this was important to me because I expected some of my family members to not be that impressed with my Rendition of things.

Thus with my Granddad’s anniversary in mind I have typed out my Tribute to him and posted it below.
I hope to post more about this wonderful man in the future.
I also hope my tribute is of benefit to people struggling with the Pains, trials, and tribulations of Life as this is not just the story of an individual’s life but about Hope and happiness in the face of death and loss.

Love You Heaps Granddad! XOX

I have started a Facebook page in memory of Him >>>Here<<< I hope everyone who knew him visits, enjoys, and contributes to this memorial. granddad 001

After an exemplary life, and a heroic fight against cancer, by beloved Grandfather has passed on.
There is not enough time today to fully express what he means to me, I therefore shall leave much out of this tribute for others to share.
I have chosen to focus on the most precious values that I personally treasureā€¦ that I see as the Greater part of his legacy.

My Grandfather was the Abraham of our family!
When I was growing up his word was Law.
He set the standards for manhood and he always stuck to his word.
His glory as a faithful husband to my Nana and as a father to his children (and Grandchildren) gave me such assurance that life makes perfect sense, and that all is well in the world.

Rev Clark was a man of Reason and a man of Faith.
He was a Christian minister, which is a huge testimony to the value of that religion.
Those who knew him and loved him, yet are not Christians ought to pause and contemplate the huge implications that such a man of great wisdom and integrity was not ashamed to wear the garb of a Man of God!
It is this truth that I hold dearest about my Grandfather, and it is in honour of his principled faith in God that I wish to write to you about life, religion, and death.

This is a fitting time to talk about religion and death.
If itā€™s not cool to talk about religion and death at the funeral of a preacher, then I ask when?
For many Death is the hardest most frightening reality we face.
How are we to deal with it?
We all must face our own mortality sooner or later and worse still we must face the mortality of those we hold dear.

Some like my Grandfather, live full term and death becomes a sort of mercy, yet many tragically die before their time and it seems a truism to say ā€œLifeā€™s not fair!ā€
Should we die from our own immorality or foolishness we may find small solace in seeing such deaths as justly ā€˜reaping what we have sownā€™, yet often death comes to the virtuous and innocentā€¦at the hands of some evil, and so this rule appears violated.
The Soul that looses a loved one in such a way, or they find themselves facing an early death by some evil is in danger of becoming bitter and twisted, and a hater of God, even if they donā€™t believe in him!
Indeed they choose not to believe in him simply because they see life as unjust!
It is for this reason that a positive philosophy about death is essential for every one of us if we are to truly enjoy life.
Without a sure reasoned faith powerful enough to overcome these sorts of painā€¦ bitterness and hatred of God are almost as sure to consume your soul as the sun will rise tomorrow!

Perhaps some may delude themselves into being happy by such base notions that ultimately ā€˜Nothing really mattersā€™, but this can never suffice the deep hearted.
This can only leave you cold.
I therefore say True Religion is essential for the survival and happiness of everyone of us, and not to have such a faith is a disaster!
Pain bitterness, hopelessness, and hatred are the lot for the lost soul without true religion.
Rev Clark Knew this, and this was one reason he was a minister of God.
Peace, hope, and a clear sense of justice are only possible for the man of reason that has reason enough to have faith that ultimately all is well and that life has real meaning and value.

It is my testimony, and that of my Grandfather that reason enough does indeed exist for hope and belief in Divine Justice.

Tears. Knowing time was short. Me and Granddad shortly before his death.

Let me now share with you a tiny fraction of the logic for faith in God, faith in his goodness, and faith in Christ by a few self-evident truths.

What lies in that box is not my Grandfather!
That dead body is but the house he lived in.
Science tells us that we replace every cell in our body every seven years.
This being so, most of us have had many bodies in our lifetime already!
They are miraculous things that were designed by incredible genius, but they are not the essence of who we are.
What is missing from that corpse is the *Real Granddad* whom we all love!
*His Soul*.

A great portion of Mankind are suffering from the delusion that we are but soul-less matter.
This is a great inhuman and evil superstition that has the most evil consequences for those under itā€™s spell.
The fruit of it is nihilism and this lowers man down to the level of a germ.
Granddad knew this truth and was a minister of menā€™s *souls*.

Now think about loveā€¦ what is the chemical formula for that?
Can chemicals love?
Can rocks feel?
Can robots be conscious of their own existence and care about the existence of other robots?

The man of reason and science, who holds that good and evil have objective reality must say no!
There is no Atheistic science that can accommodate the facts of reality or human experience!

All human invention is childlike when compared to such marvels as the human mind, brain, and hands.
The scripture that declares we are made in Godā€™s image is the most rational statement pertaining to our existence!

I say that if the Earth was like the moon, and there was no such thing as mankindā€¦ then it might be rational to think ā€˜there is no Godā€™ or that whatever is responsible for existence is dead not living.
But we live!… and science has proven that Life only comes from life.
It therefore follows that whatever is primary in reality must not only be alive, but also of supreme intelligence.
We call this Supreme being Godā€¦. who is before all temporal Laws and things.

The scripture wisely declares ā€œThe fool hath said in his heart there is no Godā€, and that mankind must beware ā€˜science falsely so-calledā€™.

Donā€™t be deceived by *Fake Science* like Darwinism.
Understand the difference between science proper, and poor speculations that are contrary to it.
Darwinism is fatally flawed and already fading away, yet Christianity stands fast and ready for you to embrace.
It alone accounts for cause and effect, both Physical and Moral.
The foolish man builds his house upon the sands of manā€™s ever changing myths.
The wise man builds his house upon the rock of Godā€™s sure word of truth, The King James Bible.

This article appeared in the Waikato Times.

Why must we embrace Christ?
It is because this is how God has declared as his only acceptable way of salvation, and it is God who sets the terms for such a thingā€¦ not us.
To be so vain as to believe God must accept us on *our terms* is to hang reality on our whim, and to Deify our pea-sized intellect!

Socrates, who believed in life after death, said it ought to be a manā€™s chief concern to ā€˜Know thyselfā€™, and that the unexamined life is not worth living.
I say that if we dare to examine ourselves our need for Christ and Godā€™s forgiveness becomes as clear as day!
What is wondrous about Godā€™s salvation through Christ is that he has managed to satisfy both Justice and Mercy, and to reveal his loving grace towards us.
He has achieved this by giving us freewill, and the liberty to choose to or reject him.
For us to choose Christ we must recognize we are sinful and lost.
Do not hide behind such foolish clichĆ©, as ā€˜Religion is the cause of all mankindā€™s woesā€¦ such as war.ā€
Sin and Evil are the cause of these and knowing this ought to convince us all of the need for salvation and Godā€™s government!
The good news is ā€œWhosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.ā€
Salvation is a free Gift!
The Bible says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness.
Rev Clark believed in God and was a minister of this truth.

Was he an irrational superstitious Fool?
No!
He was a man of Reason and a true Humanitarian.
This is what Christianity is all about!
I donā€™t ask you to become a pew warmer.
I implore you all to ask Christ to be your savior!

Let us maintain our faith in justice in the face of every hardship.
Let us play the hand we have been dealt with dignity to the very end.
Let us love one another and cherish every moment we have!

I thank God for my Grandfather and trust his soul is now in a much better place.
And I expect to see him again!

Thank you Granddad for everything.
You are an inspiration to us all.
Amen.

I cannot finish without giving recognition to my Nana who is the best wife any man could have.
Thank you Nana for loving and caring for my Granddad.
We all love you so much!

ā€œFor the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness: but unto us which are saved: it is the power of Godā€

I picked this song because it is one Me and my Family used to enjoy at Christmas time and on visits to Granddad and Nana…. Priceless memories.

The Act Party Waikato,BOP Regional Conference July 2014.

act conference 7 14 009

Is it possible to trust a man who turns down a free beer… a Waikato Draught… and exclaims ā€œI donā€™t drink beerā€¦ I drink wineā€¦ā€ !!!????

Hmmmm.

A Libertarian friend, and I attended the Act party BOP/ Wakato Regional conference yesterday, held in an Hamilton Airport Hotel conference room.
I was interested to meet Actā€™s new Leader, Jamie Whyte, and to hear him speak.
I took advantage of the fine weather to take my Triumph for a scoot.

I did not hang around for Dinner, or the evening discussions.
Iā€™m not a member of Act, yet I would like to just tough on a few highlights of the day from my Libertarian perspective.

The meeting was also a party fundraiser, organized by Vince Ashworth and his wife, and Hamilton City Councilor and one time party president Garry Mallett was MC.

act conference 7 14 003

The Meeting kicked off a little after 3pm with Actā€™s Hamilton East Candidate, Ron Smith.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the content of his speech!
It was in my view the best speech of the day.
Mixed with humour, it was very Libertarianā€¦ not what I was expecting from an ex Waikato Uni Professor.
He said he was stepping up to the plate because he thought New Zealand was at a crisis point, and needed people in parliament to protect what he saw as positive gainsā€¦ esp ā€˜Fiscal responsibilityā€™.

Ron discussed how over a period of may decades his political outlook had shifted
considerably from the commonly held view that politics was simply a matter of various opinions on how best to organize community projects, and interests etc, to a far more sophisticated and enlightened viewā€¦. having figured out via decades of trial and error that the ā€˜Big Governmentā€™ model simply *doesn’t work.*
(Applause from me! :-))
None the less Ron warns ā€¦ā€œThere is a ā€˜Gaggleā€™ of politicians and their supporters, and esp the media which continues to live in denialā€
Ron was very critical of the Waikato Times saying that in the past they had interviewed six candidates of various other (socialist) parties, and given them each a substantial space in the paper, yet had not bothered to interview anyone from Act.
(I myself have experienced this sort of prejudice from the Waikato Times myself, and it is appalling that such an important paper fails so miserablyā€¦ and so often, in itā€™s journalistic integrity!)
Ron also decried the calibre of the journalismā€¦ their silly and irrelevant questions about ā€˜Catsā€™, etc.

He expressed his high regard for Jamie Whyteā€™s prowess as a political analyst.

Some of the last things Ron said which had me nodding was that many of the problems being faced by New Zealanders are rightly ā€˜Individual problemsā€™ā€¦ thus best lest to the individuals themselves to solve, and rightly singled out Securityā€¦ internal Law and order as being a legitimate concern of government, and External security.
I asked him later of by this did he mean that the government should stop wasting money on things like Americaā€™s cup, and spend more on our Militaryā€¦ speaking personally he said ā€œYesā€¦ but a have not discussed any of this yet with Jamie Whyteā€.

act conference 7 14 005

Next up was Dianne Mulhern ā€œWhy I support Actā€ā€¦ she decried those New Zealanders whom harbour ā€˜a sense of entitlementā€™ considering welfare to be ā€˜A right rather than a privilegeā€™.

She said she likes Act because they had a tuff stance on crime.

On Taxes she saidā€¦ ā€œI would like to hold on to more of my own moneyā€¦
My Husband and I run a business, and we pay taxes and taxes on taxes, and we have had enough!ā€
She explained that they tried protesting paying GST on top of a particular government Levy yet were forced to submit and pay up when they were threatened with court action.

act conference 7 14 012

Before a coffee break Jamie Whyte stood up to speak.

His speech was primarily a summary of what he has been releasing as his ā€˜Sunday Seriesā€™, which are available to view on the net.

He started with saying that he is proud of the High calibre of personnel within Actā€™s ranks and is grateful there as plenty of wisdom there to tap into, and gain good advice.

He used David Cunnliffeā€™s ā€œ I am Sorry I am a manā€ , to contrast his vision of Act as a Party championing Individualism, and self responsibility in comparison to Labourā€™s collectivist mindset with itā€™s ā€˜Guilt by associationā€™ type mentality … their fixation with having a ā€˜gender equalā€™ spread in their party list as being more desirable than making *impartial selections* based upon personal virtues and merits rather than sex.

He said Equality before the Law was the most important principle of justice, and that Lady Justice is symbolically blindfolded so that she does not see the identity of the persons with whom she is judging.

Without mentioning the National parties culpability, he talked about the institutionalized Racism which New Zealand suffers which grants privileges to Maori.

Clearly New Zealand does not have a just systemā€¦ we have race based seats in parliament, Raced based state ā€˜advisory boardsā€™, etc .
The RMA says Maori are more important, and have more say in matters of Development, and land management.
He said that because Maori have poor statistics in areas of Health, wealth, and crime that it appeared to many that Maori are disadvantaged, and that these things meant that it was difficult for some people to appreciate the fact that legally speaking Maori are privileged, and non-Maori are discriminated against.

To further make his point he said he knew of a woman with two sons, one born to a Maori Father, the other had a non-Maori father.
He said currently the way the Law is written that the Non-Maori son would have to score an ā€˜Aā€™ to be accepted into Law School, whereas the Maori son would be accepted even if he only scored a ā€˜Cā€™.
This not only unfairly discriminates against Non-Maori, but that ironically it means that because Maori donā€™t need to exert themselves to the same degree to get byā€¦ many donā€™tā€¦ and thus this ā€˜easy roadā€™ does not tend towards an ethic of striving for success.

This is the sort of reason why Legal privilege is not working out to be in the best interest of the Maori peopleā€¦ socialism is failing them!

He said that even their racial legal privilege if it was working for them he would still oppose it on principle.

He said that in post election negotiations with National, Act would push for some sort of inquiry/ board it investigate ending the current race based laws and institutions of government.

When the opportunity came for questions from the floor, I said I agreed with what he had said, yet asked if it was prudent to wait until post election negotiations to formulate Acts policy for ending racial privilege.
I said that he ought to draw a line in the sand before the election and lay out not negotiable conditions for entering a coalition, because this would strengthen his position post election, yet he was not prepared to do that.
I asked if at a very minimum he would be prepared to say that Act will not enter into a Coalition with National, if it also included coalition with the Maori party?

Again he refused.
He then attempted to suggest that the Maori Party were reasonable people!

For me this was very disappointing!
Had he not just spoken about Law and order, and that equality before the Law was the most important principle of Justice?… and yet he was not prepared to make a minimum condition of coalition with National ā€¦ in any way shape or form, to end the travesty of Waitangi separatism and our apartheid laws and institutions!
What more I gather Jamie does not have a very good grasp as to just how great a swindle is being perpetrated upon the people of New Zealand.
I think to the degree that he has investigated these matters, that he has by and large swallowed the modern ā€˜Revisionist historyā€™ which portrays the Maori as victims of Land alienation via Greedy and underhanded means.
One thing is clear to me, Jamie has obviously been deceived by the Maori party- Mana split, and considers The Maori party to be reasonableā€¦ in comparison to Hone Harawera!
He does not realize that they are both *exactly the same*, only the Maori party are more cunningā€¦ more politically savyā€¦ more slyā€¦ whereas Hone Harawera is far more open and honest!

It is truly a wonder to me that Act would even consider entering a coalition with the Maori partyā€¦the party which represents the vested interests which are capitalizing from the injustices of our current apartheid system?
But then again how could anyone even contemplate getting into bed with the National party anyway?

Sigh.

I asked him whatā€™s the point of getting into parliament without your principles?
He insisted he was taking them with him.

For me it is difficult to witness.
I believe he is sincere in his convictions.
He certainly is honest enough to say that he wont be drawn to make pre-election non-negotiable coalition conditions.
I have no doubt that he believes this course of action is the best policy to get Act back into parliament as part of the ruling coalitionā€¦ that is his focus.
Yet I cant help but think that he is making a massive mistake.
Not only is he failing on the moral level, but is making a grievous miscalculation, and not learning from the Ghosts of Acts past.

I will have to talk about these spooks in another postā€¦ I will simply say that by taking this course of action Jamie is not giving the enlightened voter any solid reason to believe a vote for Act is anything more than a vote for Nationalā€¦ and a perpetuation of the Status quo.

act conference 7 14 020

Several other people spoke, including Richard Prebble, whom is a bit of a character and in the words of Gary Mallettā€¦ is the Act partyā€™s hardest working, and most dedicated battler.
His speech was a reinforcement of Jamie as the best possible candidate to lead the party, and went on to discuss Acts chances at election time.
He sighted many ā€˜advantagesā€™ Act had which are reason for optimism.
ā€œā€¦A vote for Act is not a wasted vote..ā€
He is full of assurance that their Epsom candidate David Seymour will be victorious, and with the party vote hoping for as many as 9 Mpā€™s.

During a short open forum, questions on Immigration were raisedā€¦ most flavoured with the usual petty xenophobia and mean-spiritedness ā€¦ ā€œForeigners steeling Kiwi jobsā€, to which I was very pleased to hear Jamieā€™s (and others) enlightened and benevolent responses.
He clearly has sensible, and humane ideas about immigration, and tabled several arguments which thwart many of the phobias that fuel anti-immigration.
He mention that migrants were a much needed source of labour to do jobs that Kiwis didnā€™t want to do.
Beth Houlbrooke also pointed out that migrants contribute greatly to our economy, with many of the higher skilled individuals actually creating *More jobs* for Kiwisā€¦not less.

The one negative comment I have to say about Ron Smith is that he seemed to harbour fears about Indonesian Boat people reaching our shores, and that in his opinion New Zealand should adopt/ partner up with Australiaā€™s ā€˜Final solutionā€™ (my words).

My heart breaks when I think about the horrific treatment of desperate refugees by the Australian government.

I just cant fathom how people can be so heartless against such people whom are simply looking to escape a hell hole, and find a safe place to raise their kids.

I am sickened by the inhumanity of those Americans whom equate innocent Mexican children crossing the US Border to escape the hell of the Drug warā€¦ as being Mexican Gangster killers!

I think about the Jews whom were trying to escape the Nazis being turned away and sent back to the German ovens.
I think about the Children drowning at sea.

Can we not have a more humane border policy which allows some sort of Private voluntary association to take in these people and work to assimilate them into our society?
This is a subject for another blogpostā€¦ back to the Act Conference.

act conference 7 14 023

The Act party as Jamie presents it is the most conservative flavourā€¦ the least radical.
Though apparently Act is the party of Law and order, personal freedom and self responsibility, we donā€™t hear anything as Brash as decriminalization of cannabisā€¦ at least not at this conference.
One of the biggest problems I see for Jamie is that if he thinks that he can start off this ā€˜luke warmā€™ way, thinking that as the party grows stronger that at a later date he will be able to steer the party in more Libertarian direction, that he will then realize that he has not created a ā€˜Liberalā€™ party at all!
He will have filled his ranks with conservative center right socialists (Quazi-Fascists) whom will resist any move towards *Real Reforms*ā€¦ and if he thinks it is necessary to appease conservative center right socialists *to get into* parliament, I say he will have to continue to do so *to remain* in parliament
This has always been the curse of Actā€¦ The conservatives have always thwarted the Idealist ambitionsā€¦ and this is why Act has achieved virtually nothing in all its time in parliament.

So I worry that because Jamie is taking the road of least resistance, that not only will this make it difficult to differentiate Act from National in the eyes of the most enlightened voting New Zealanders whom are looking for a *Real alternative* ā€¦costing him votes, instead of filling Act with principled Idealists, whom love justice, he runs the risk of simply swallowing up disgruntled National party voters and pragmatists whom would sell their own grannys to remain in parliamentā€¦ ahead of struggling for progress.
His way may be quickerā€¦ but it will end miserably.
My way may be a bit slowerā€¦ yet I believe the end results would be far more spectacular!

Anyway….

There were several other speakers and many other interesting questions debated yet sadly I have run out of time and space to report them.
It’s 1am and I start work at 6!
I will have to edit’ spell check this tomorrow nite.

They had a very good turn out…a full house… I estimate 50+.

To return to my original question, I think Jamie Whyte is an honest politician, whom is in stark contrast to the General Demagogue herd, in that he is careful not to make promises that he is not sure he can keep.

Despite my criticismā€¦. Despite my disappointmentā€¦ I like Jamie, and many of his Supporters.
I certainly believe he would be a good man for New Zealand to have in parliament.
I think Ron Smith is an excellent candidate for Hamilton east and I would encourage Easters to give him their vote but alas I donā€™t think he wants themā€¦ Heā€™s fishing for party votes.

Though I am not a member of the Act party, I am certainly willing to help them expound the principles of Equality before the Law, of reducing the size and expense of government, of increasing Liberty, self reliance and self responsibility, etc and hope that I have opportunity to talk with Jamie again soon.

He’s a smart guy, and I look forward to watching him in action, and the rest of Act’s new line up which includes at least one Ex Libertarianz Party member, and another Libz Supporter.

No doubt in Jamie’s mind *any* movement he manages to pull our government in the right direction… no matter how small… is a real moral victory.
It’s hard to argue against that.

I would certainly love it if Act was to grow into a Powerhouse of Libertarian Idealism!

Dreams are Free!

Talk is cheep.

My criticisms have little weight.
Personally, as a Politician I am a complete failureā€¦. I may make NZ history as being the most unsuccessful person who stood for election.. yet to me Politics is not about the art of compromise, but about Resolute and unwavering integrity to principle.
To me itā€™s *not a wasted vote* to vote for a candidate whom best represents your personal values and Idealsā€¦. Even if … According to the mainstream mediaā€¦they have no hope of governing.

I’m rambling again…

Now Iā€™d better get my arse down to the Electoral office and get my paperwork to stand again as a Libertarian Independent candidate for Ham West.

Tim Wikiriwhi.
Libertarian Independent.

Update:29-7-14 Winston Peters is a politician for whom I harbour much contempt, yet having just received word that John Key is now willing to conciser a post election deal with him, having ruled out the Conservative party, none the less Peters has boldly announced that he will not join any coalition with The Separatists of the Maori or Mana Parties…. which is exactly the sort of courageous and principled stand I was hoping that Jamie Whyte would make a minimum condition in any deal with National.

Update 3-8-14.

More Prohibitionist Lies exposed: ‘Crack baby’ study ends with unexpected but clear result. By Susan FitzGerald, For The Inquirer.

crack

“Ever since her birth 23 years ago, a team of researchers has been tracking every aspect of her development – gauging her progress as an infant, measuring her IQ as a preschooler, even peering into her adolescent brain using an MRI machine.

Now, after nearly a quarter century, the federally funded study was ending, and the question the researchers had been asking was answered.

Did cocaine harm the long-term development of children like Jaimee, who were exposed to the drug in their mother’s womb?

The researchers had expected the answer would be a resounding yes. But it wasn’t. Another factor would prove far more critical.”

….

“My worst fear was that Jaimee would be slow, mentally retarded, or something like that because of me doing drugs,” she said. She agreed to enroll her baby in the cocaine study at Einstein. Drakewood promised herself that she would turn her life around for the sake of Jaimee and her older daughter, but she soon went back to smoking crack.

Hurt arrived early at Children’s Hospital one morning in June to give a talk on her team’s findings to coworkers. After nearly 25 years of studying the effects of cocaine and publishing or presenting dozens of findings, it wasn’t easy to summarize it in a PowerPoint presentation. The study received nearly $7.9 million in federal funding over the years, as well as $130,000 from the Einstein Society.

Hurt, who had taken her team from Einstein to Children’s in 2003, began her lecture with quotations from the media around the time the study began. A social worker on TV predicted that a crack baby would grow up to “have an IQ of perhaps 50.” A print article quoted a psychologist as saying “crack was interfering with the central core of what it is to be human,” and yet another article predicted that crack babies were “doomed to a life of uncertain suffering, of probable deviance, of permanent inferiority.”

Hurt, who is also a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, is always quick to point out that cocaine can have devastating effects on pregnancy. The drug can cause a problematic rise in a pregnant woman’s blood pressure, trigger premature labor, and may be linked to a dangerous condition in which the placenta tears away from the uterine wall. Babies born prematurely, no matter the cause, are at risk for a host of medical and developmental problems. On top of that, a parent’s drug use can create a chaotic home life for a child.

Hurt’s study enrolled only full-term babies so the possible effects of prematurity did not skew the results. The babies were then evaluated periodically, beginning at six months and then every six or 12 months on through young adulthood. Their mothers agreed to be tested for drug use throughout the study.

The researchers consistently found no significant differences between the cocaine-exposed children and the controls. At age 4, for instance, the average IQ of the cocaine-exposed children was 79.0 and the average IQ for the nonexposed children was 81.9. Both numbers are well below the average of 90 to 109 for U.S. children in the same age group. When it came to school readiness at age 6, about 25 percent of children in each group scored in the abnormal range on tests for math and letter and word recognition.

“We went looking for the effects of cocaine,” Hurt said. But after a time “we began to ask, ‘Was there something else going on?’ ”

While the cocaine-exposed children and a group of nonexposed controls performed about the same on tests, both groups lagged on developmental and intellectual measures compared to the norm. Hurt and her team began to think the “something else” was poverty.

As the children grew, the researchers did many evaluations to tease out environmental factors that could be affecting their development. On the upside, they found that children being raised in a nurturing home – measured by such factors as caregiver warmth and affection and language stimulation – were doing better than kids in a less nurturing home. On the downside, they found that 81 percent of the children had seen someone arrested; 74 percent had heard gunshots; 35 percent had seen someone get shot; and 19 percent had seen a dead body outside – and the kids were only 7 years old at the time. Those children who reported a high exposure to violence were likelier to show signs of depression and anxiety and to have lower self-esteem.

More recently, the team did MRI scans on the participants’ brains. Some research has suggested that gestational cocaine exposure can affect brain development, especially the dopamine system, which in turn can harm cognitive function. An area of concern is “executive functioning,” a set of skills involved in planning, problem-solving, and working memory.

The investigators found one brain area linked to attention skills that differed between exposed and nonexposed children, but they could not find any clinically significant effect on behavioral tests of attention skills.

Drug use did not differ between the exposed and nonexposed participants as young adults. About 42 percent used marijuana and three tested positive for cocaine one time each.

The team has kept tabs on 110 of the 224 children originally in the study. Of the 110, two are dead – one shot in a bar and another in a drive-by shooting – three are in prison, six graduated from college, and six more are on track to graduate. There have been 60 children born to the 110 participants.

The years of tracking kids have led Hurt to a conclusion she didn’t see coming.

“Poverty is a more powerful influence on the outcome of inner-city children than gestational exposure to cocaine,” Hurt said at her May lecture…. ”

Science is now exposing the myths about Magic Mushrooms and Ecstasy… Now they are being investigated for their beneficial qualities for the brain, and helping with PTSD, etc… and yet the disastrous War on drugs continues.

Utilitarianism vs Libertarianism. Socialist pragmatism vs Libertarian Idealism

Of 10 highest IQ’s on earth, at least 8 are Theists, at least 6 are Christians: Examiner.com.

Andrew Magdy Kamal – apparently the highest IQ ever recorded, at 231.734. This was accomplished last year (2013) just before he turned 17. This includes an adjustment made for his age (which is done routinely for minors), so only time will tell if he maintains his position, but he is listed in Record Holder’s Republic for Highest IQ and Highest IQ average, and it looks pretty good. He is a he is a staunch conservative and a member of the Republican Tea Party. He is also the founder of the Coptic Orthodox Messianicans Group. Andrew Magdy Kamal hopes to use his talents and intelligence to spread the news of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) his hero, and he lives in Michigan.

Abdessellam Jelloul – apparently the highest IQ ever scored by an adult in the “advanced IQ test” was by Jelloul, who scored an adult IQ of 198. This was in a 2012 test which included 13 dimensions of intelligence (analytical, spatial, logical, memory, musical, linguistic, philosophical, moral, spiritual, interpersonal, intra-personal, bodily and naturalist). Unlike other tests, the advanced IQ test includes more measures that other tests cannot assess. I tweeted Mr. Jelloul a question about his beliefs in September of last year, and he graciously replied to me that he does “believe in God, a Supreme Architect of the universe” (see a screenshot of this tweet in the slideshow).

Christopher Michael Langan – has a verified IQ of at least 195. Langan achieved a perfect score on the SAT, but dropped out of Montana State University after concluding his professors weren’t qualified to teach him anything. ABC’s 20/20 measured his IQ (as an adult) to be between 195 and 210. Langan has indicated in his writings numerous that he believes in God, for example, in William Dembski’s book “Uncommon Dissent”, he wrote: “…since Biblical accounts of the genesis of our world and species are true but metaphorical, our task is to correctly decipher the metaphor in light of scientific evidence also given to us by God”.

Terence Tao – his IQ was estimated to be between 220 and 230 by the Davidson Institute when he was about ten years old. At eight years old, Tao achieved a score of 760 on the pre-1995 SAT, received a Ph.D from Princeton at 20 and at 24 became the youngest ever full professor at UCLA. I couldn’t find anything about Tao’s metaphysical views. He’s obviously a tremendous mathematician, but doesn’t seem to post much outside of mathematics.

Christopher Hirata – has a verified IQ of 225, calculated when he was in his teens. Hirata skipped middle school, and at 16 was working with NASA on a project exploring the possibility of colonizing Mars. The Daily Princetonian, Princeton’s student paper, where Hirata began attending for his PhD in Astrophysics at 18, reported that his IQ is around 225. Hirata posted the following to his Facebook on October 31, 2013: “Today’s experience: saying the Lord’s prayer with a homeless couple on Colorado Boulevard. It may not feed or shelter them, but I hope that it made a difference in their lives.” So he is clearly both a Theist and a Christian.

Evangelos Katsioulis – has apparently scored a 198 as an adult. Katsioulis is a Greek Doctor/Psychiatrist/Philosopher who has publicly referred to his belief in human souls several times. For example, he did a lecture in 2008 called “BODY AND SOUL”, and made clear that he wasn’t speaking metaphorically in it with lines like: “The soul is not the body. It is not the flesh. It is the spirit.” He is apparently a follower of a strand of Christianity influenced by Teilhard de Chardin.

Rick Rosner – has apparently scored a 192 as an adult, after years of honing his IQ test-taking skills. Has been a writer for the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and appeared on “So You Want to be A Millionaire”. Rosner denied that he was an atheist on Twitter, after an inquiry. He also retweeted this Einstein quote: “God does not care about our mathematical difficulties. He integrates empirically” and in answer to the question “You know there’s a God?” he answered “Maybe. Suspect there’s an infinity of gods”.

Mislav Predavec – has apparently scored a 192 as an adult. [Update – I initially had the wrong quote linked here]. His Christianity can easily be confirmed by a beautiful response he wrote to a friend who had become a Christian in one of the groups he belongs to and which was posted online:

“David, I am so glad hearing good news about your convalescence, and more about your enlightenment, you are aware now that your suffer and pain, your giftedness and sense are a part of plan. Truly, all this canĀ“t exist without being leading it intentionally. Atheistic explanation that everything is accidental progress is full of holes. Stay well my friend.

Mislav”

Gary Kasparov – is alleged to have an IQ of 190. He was perhaps the most universally attested-to as a top-shelf intellect, so it was unthinkable to leave him off of this list. In 2003 Kasparov played to a draw against a chess computer that could calculate three million positions per second. He is considered by many to be the greatest chess player of all time. Kasparov has described himself as a “self-appointed Christian”

Kenneth Ferrell – has apparently scored a 190 as an adult. If I have located the right Kenneth Ferrell online, it’s abundantly clear from his own words that he’s a Christian. Since I’m not sure, I didn’t include him in my count of believers.

So you can see that the brightest of the bright have not foreclosed on the possibility of the existence of an Intelligent Designer. Juxtaposed with the fact that most Scientists are not atheists, I’d say that the Appeal to Authority on which atheist debators have long relied has dissolved.

Kings and Convicts (Part 3) Korotangi Paki’s Thug life, and road to redemption.

thugs and chaos

Because my 2nd post on this subject was so long.
I decided to chop it in half and make a 3rd post.

When I speak of ‘Redemption’, I am referring to becoming a civilised and respectful member of society with something good to contribute, rather than Spiritual salvation from the Ultimate Judgement of God.
It is very true to say that Criminal reform often follows in the wake of true Chistian conversion and faith…. Christianity being describe as ‘that most potent of moral antiseptics’ by the father of sociology, Herbert Spencer, and it is also true to say that Christianity was the major civilising influence for Cannibalistic and Savage Maori culture when the English Protestant ‘Mechanic Missionaries’ first landed in Aotearoa before this country became a British Colony… at the request of the Confederation of Maori Chiefs, whom feared conquest by the French.
The influence of the Christian missionaries is evident in their petition to King William.

The civilising influences of Christianity aside, what follows is not about *how and why* a criminal might seek to reform, but that reform is possible, and that criminals can become valuable members of civil society.

^^^^
It has been a very bad week in the press for the Taunui Monarchy, with growing reports of more misbehaviour from the second son, including Racist ranting, and connections with the Mongrel mob, and we have herd that he was involved in a serious car crash a few years back… and yet was not convicted for that either.

I donā€™t think it is fair to assume the Kings sonā€™s offending is a consequence of poor parenting, or positive proof the Monarch never bothered to try and instil healthy values in his son… it may indeed be the case.
It is certainly true in many Maori households.
Maybe the King is indeed a Bad Parent, yet it is just as likely that his sons bad behaviour has more to do with his misfit peers with whom he hangs out, than his upbringing.
Sadly many youths of our dayā€¦ and a very high percentage of Maori youth embrace a delinquent lifestyle as it is a part of a Hollywood Glamorised Rebellious youth culture, and deeper still it has a lot to do with the Nihilism of our ā€˜age of Atheismā€™… on top of learning unhealthy values at home, and having Bad Role models.
The Thug life.

Korotangi Pakiā€™s offending, and shameful behaviour no doubt springs from a combination of these things … The actions of a lost young soul who thinks that Lawlessness is cool, and struggles to find anything worth while in life.

I can relate to that. .. yet despite any of these circumstances …. and many others, Youths need to appreciate the fact that as they have become self responsible adults , that excuses for sloth, or bad behaviour simply donā€™t cut it…. and they must assume full responsibility for their lives and actions.
They must learn healthy values and to respect the rights and property of others.

I cant help but wonder if he had been convicted for his earlier offence , that that ā€˜reality pillā€™ could have helped him to appreciate that his High jinx juvenile delinquency comes at a cost.
Is it possible to believe that had he been convicted earlier, that he would not now be dodging punishments for more crimes?
Some kids learn quicklyā€¦. Others take decades.

I cant help but think that if I was King Tuheitia, that rather than try and save Korotangi Paki from facing the full legal consequences of his actions, the best thing that could happen to this young rebel is that he receives a conviction for these charges of Burglary and Drinking and driving, and that he is made to pay a fine, and do Periodic detention … to teach him that he is not above the law and that should he continue down this path of criminality, that he will suffer the consequences.

As for grooming the boy for the throne, i cant think of someone being less fit to rule over the tribe, than a person whom via experience has been taught that they are above the law and that the system can be manipulated!

What ought to matter to the King is not that his boy remains free from criminal conviction, but that he *Reforms his ways* Learns the lesson that Crime is not cool, or excusable, and that he grows in Character and virtue.
And being convicted for his crimes is in reality most likely to be a valuable lesson.
Some of us only learn the hard way.

If I was the king I would be very worried about the path my boy was taking, yet I would never say that my boy could *Never succeed me* if he ever received a criminal conviction…. on the contrary I would make it clear that he still has reason to hope if he ā€˜mans upā€™ and straightens up his life, and proves himself to have learned from his mistakes, and become a Man of virtue.

Indeed such a reformed person can become a very good leader of men, and a good example.
They can be better communicators to troubled youths, because they can empathise with them… and understand how their mind ticks.
They can use their personal insights … and speak from personal experience.
The reality is Maori donā€™t need more Pompous frauds whom are experts at ā€˜playing Maoriā€™.
They do need leaders whom can guide them towards better values and ethics which are essential for Maori to learn if they are to climb out of the Dire social statistics which has resulted …. not from European colonisation, but from of an ethical crisis.

i-didnt-choose-the-thug-life-the-thug-life-chose-me-pug-dog-red-sweater-meme

Korotangi Pakiā€™s crimes and shameful behaviour stems from a lack of personal ethics and self responsibility…. not because he is a member of a persecuted racial minority.
The good news is that because this is so, It means the solution to his problems are not beyond his control, but are completely within his power to overcome.
It is simply a matter of him admitting to himself that he has taken a wrong path, and finding the will … the desire to become a better man.

He needs to walk away from any associates who are hell bent on Chaos and destruction, and to find new friends whom are also trying to make the most of life via virtue .
It is not an easy thing to achieve, but it is do-able.
The alternative is to travel further down the path that leads to destruction.
If the king does not give his son any hope that he can work his way out of this mess, and back into favour, that could be a burden too much to bear, and could be the factor which drives his son to destruction.
A Fatherā€™s Blessing or curse weighs a great deal upon a son, and when the boy is down… they need their fathers support to help get themselves out of the hole.
Yet the loving parent must never ā€˜Babyā€™ them… thatā€™s not helping… thatā€™s perpetuating the problem.

Thus I dare to challenge the common notion that convicted criminals cant make good leaders or examples.
I say that Reformed Criminals can be Great leaders and become inspirational examples to be emulated by others.

It is in reality up to Korotangi Paki what sort of Man he will eventually become… which course he chooses to navigate….
Life is not Static, nor are we slaves of circumstances, or of our genes.
As Freewill moral agents we are at all times making moral judgements, and expressing our Values.
We can learn from our mistakes and become better people, as long as we take ownership and responsibility for our actions.

I know these things from personal experience.

>>>>>*If*<<<<< Korotangi Paki snaps out of his current folly, and begins to prove himself to be a Better, more mature person... I dont see any reason why after 7 years of truly self responsible behaviour that he should not be given a clean slate, considered to be a potential leader of the Tainui people... To er is Human, to forgive is divine. Tim Wikiriwhi.

Kings and Convicts (Part 2) The Charade.

The following is Part two of my thoughts on the recent Saga involving the criminal activities of
Korotangi Paki, the 2nd son of the Tainui King.

It is way way too long, and at some time in the future I will revise and combine both parts into a single opinion piece.
They will require a massive hatchet job.
I apologize for their cumbersome obesity.
I hope by the end of this second part that it is obvious how the first part relates to the second.

Update: I decided the best solution was to make this a 3 part series. šŸ™‚

Part one is >>>Here<<< Part 2 is below .... Part 3 is >>>Here<<< fantasy-chess-art_00440575

In a letter to the Judge, The Tainui King said that there is no way he would consider his son as a possible heir to his throne, if he should get criminal convictions.

It was in the light of this letter, that the Liberal Judge decided not to convict Korotangi Paki for Burglary and Drink driving being persuaded that the cost to himā€¦ should he be convicted would be far too heavy in respect to the offences.

While it is true that any penalties a court of justice imposes ought be justly proportional to the seriousness of the crime, this type of defence employed in this case is a Liberal sophistry which has gained currency in New Zealand, which is primarily used to separate and grant favours to the social elite…. most often by the likes of Sportsman and artists whom have careers or at least ambitions overseas.
Because many countries bar entry to convicts, this defence has been successfully employed to avoid convictions by ā€˜high fliersā€™, while the plebs of our Nation are afforded no such leniency, even though their lives are in reality grievously affected by convictions for the very same offences.

The Lawyer for the prince was employing this ruse in a very novel way., and it worked.
The prince escaped conviction.

Korotangi-Paki-1200

When the News of this travesty, reached the New Zealand public, of course there was an outcry!
Such a blatant contrast between how this High borne child was treated by the Courts compared to how the youth of commoners are dealt withā€¦ it is important to appreciate that this was not a case of Racial favouritism ā€¦. as some Pakeha have tried to make it out to beā€¦ but a matter of Classā€¦. Favouritism for a member of the Social Political Elite.
Large numbers of ordinary Maori are getting convictions for burglaries and dinking driving virtually every day Courts are in session!
Maori as a race may indeed get mountains of Legal and political favours at the hands of our corrupt apartheid Stateā€¦. Yet I have never herd of anyone being let off such Criminal charges simply on the basis that they are Maori.

I find it Fascinating that the King decided to throw his weight into this matterā€¦. Very interventionalistā€¦. Very hands onā€¦. And I thinkā€¦. Very short sighted.
His comments to the Judge are very revealing about how his mind works (or were they merely a clever ploy?)
They certainly embody something ominous about how our political system works.

Itā€™s a system founded upon pretence.

Obviouslyā€¦ like most families would beā€¦ The Tainui King was embarrassed by his sons behaviour as it causes the community to question his parenting skills, and to wonder what sort of ethics and examples were the Elders of the house and family setting for this Boy to go so far astray, ā€¦ and as such the King, instead of keeping his distance from the wheels of justiceā€¦ like a good political leader ought, he instead transgressed ethical boundaries ā€¦. Throwing his weight about with the design to minimise the ā€˜loss of Manaā€™ he perceives a conviction would carry for his sonā€¦ and himselfā€¦ in the eyes of his tribe, other tribes, and the Nation as a whole.

This demonstrates either an arrogant contempt for the legal system, or at least a massive miscalculationā€¦ because the Kings Mana would have been greatly increased had he bravely stood aloof from his sons case, and expressed his respect for the Laws of the Nation, and acknowledged they apply to the Kingly Class as much as the lowliest tribesman.
Unfortunately it appears King Tuheitia suffers that all to common delusion of the High and mightyā€¦ that they inhabit a plane above the lawā€¦ and that power may be used for personal legal advantage.
There can be no doubt that the King worded his letter to the judge on the carefully constructed advice of the QC Lawyer he had employed for his sonā€™s defence, and the Judge obediently accepted the Legal charade it presentsā€¦. Rather than bravely disregarding the Letter of the King, and taking the higher Road of ā€˜Lex Rexā€™ā€¦. The Law is King.
The Judge took the low roadā€¦ and went along with the carefully construed technicalityā€¦. that in the light of the Kings letterā€¦ it would appear that a conviction for these offences would result in a punishment out of proportion to the crimes.

That there is virtually no chance that this second son will ever have succeeded his Father adds weight to the commonly held perception that this whole defence and escape from justice, was farcical from beginning to end.

That is not the only aspect worth contemplating about this case.
There is plenty more worth consideration.

It is also striking that both the King and the Judge seem to be on a similar wave length as to the social implications as to the seriousness of being convicted of crimes, rather than merely being in fact guilty of the offences.
They seem to think that what matters most is the legal technicalities rather than the moral reality.
As if maintaining a clean record is more important than seeing justice served for crimes that were indeed committed…. we are supposed to somehow assume that by avoiding conviction, *removes the princes guilt* of having committed burglaryā€¦ and drinking and drivingā€¦ and that via this legal trickery somehow ā€¦ not being convicted means he magically remains ā€˜fit to reignā€¦. Ie that the King would thereby be able to seriously consider his wayward son to succeed him to the Tainui throne.

The shocking part of all this is surely what matters most is the actual innocence or guilt for the offence…. and that is something which cannot be washed away by a letter from a king to a judge.
This being so we should marvel at the nonsense of this whole line of defence employed by the King and the QC.
The mind numbing really is however that such games are in fact how our political machine functions!

What this non-conviction achieves is that it works to maintain the Charade of Righteousness the Ruling elite seek to project downward towards their subject populations… a Mask necessary to promote faith in their Leadership and character in the hearts and minds of the great unwashed, and elicit their willing submission…. duping the people into thinking their leaders are benevolent benefactors, when in reality their policies are Machiavellian, and they are in reality unscrupulous, and motivated to rule more by greed, the Baubles of Office, and social status, rather than a genuine concern for society.

This case in question demonstrates that a personā€™s criminal record…. or lack thereof can simply be a matter of wealth and social standing. or luck, or cunning, or how good a Lawyer you or your parents can afford.
One thing is certain… not having a criminal record is no proof of good character or worthiness to rule.

********************************************************

Abu-Bakr-al-Baghdadi
The Charade is universally employed the world over.
Having enshrined himself as Caliph in his newly conquered territories in Iraq, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi appears to the public in the pious garb of a righteous and devout Muslim leader designed to engender faith in his authority and rule.

********************************************************

Sometimes this Charade comes close to toppling the highest of VIPs from their perch, for example John Key was very quick to distance himself from his fellow ally John Banksā€¦ *once he was convicted* of Election fraud, yet he himself is prepared to tell Bare-face Lies to the people of New Zealand and being Neck deep in the Illegal spying scandal and raid on Kim Dotcom.
Hiding behind multiple ā€˜Memory lapsesā€™, he arrogantly continues to govern rather than do the honourable thing and resignā€¦ simply because he has not been found guilty in a court of law for lying and complicity in the illegal activities of his Spiesā€¦ whereas John Banks ā€˜Memory lapsesā€™ have been exposed in the courtsā€¦. And he is Goneburger!
For John Banksā€¦ the Charade is finally over.

ULTCW_WeAreThe99Percent_banner copy

It is not just the Social elite whom carry on this FaƧade.
They have plenty of help.
The bulk of our society are ā€˜wilfully ignorantā€™. Ie they *donā€™t want to know* anything about this charade because often they support the shysters in power, and most importantly, they donā€™t want to admit their civilisation is largely built upon lies.
They plead ignorance!
They certainly donā€™t want to admit that to a very great extent the distinction between Saints and Sinners is a wholly artificial faƧade!
They are in on this charade of Self-righteousness just as much as their corrupt Leaders are.
They also like to kid themselves that they are righteous and civilised, and also dwell on that superior moral plane and have the right to look down their noses at sinners and convicted criminals …. on that same pretence that they themselves have not been *convicted* for their crimes.
Indeed if this was not so, it would not be so necessary for the Political Game players to put on their garbs of piety.

It does not mean the so-called ā€˜moral majorityā€™ have not caused others grievous harm.
It does not mean they have never stolen anything…. never committed acts of violence… never committed frauds (told lies)… it simply means they have gotten away with their foul deeds.
… and this is enough to allow the average sinner to be puffed up with self-righteous vanity and bigotry.

ā€œJudge not, lest ye be judged.
For with what Judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you againā€
Jesus Christ Matt 7vs 1-3

ā€œTherefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.ā€
St Paul Romans 2vs1.

And so it is that what parades itself as Civil Order does not bare scrutiny.
And many smart people know this, and decide to forsake society and to live ā€˜outsideā€™ the constraints of lawā€¦ They are Fools too, because the fact that society is corrupt does not mean there is no moral realityā€¦ no justice in the universe, or that it is wrong for society to convict *real* criminals.
Morality has Objective reality, and so an individual ought to walk in righteousnessā€¦. Even when the society in which he lives is savage and unjust.
This is easier said than done.

It is with this in mind that I do my best not to pretend to be ā€˜Holier than thouā€™ā€¦ not to ā€˜fakeā€™ being more of a Saint than I really am.
I do believe in living honestly and respecting the rights and liberties of my fellow man yet I am painfully aware of my own short comings.
The way I read the Bibleā€¦ one of the very worst of sins, is Self-Righteous hypocrisy.
*The Charade*.

To Re-word the Kings letter….

“How could I even contemplate passing the Diadem to my Son if he has no ‘Cloak of Righteousness’ to fool the people into submitting to his Authority?
How would he be able to manoeuvre in the political arena unless he can fool the other players into considering him a man of virtue?
No that could never work.
A Criminal conviction will ruin everything.”

The Speed of Hypocrisy: How America got hooked on Legal Meth. Motherboard.

motherboard

A terrible number of words have been written about Breaking Bad, yet none have struck upon the irony at its core. For all of the cult hitā€™s vaunted fine-brush realism and sly cultural references, the show never even winked at the real world ā€œblueā€ that grew up alongside it.

During the five years Heisenberg spent as a blue-meth cook, the nation experienced a nonfictional explosion in the manufacture and sale of sapphire pills and azure capsules containing amphetamine. This other ā€œblue,ā€ known by its trade names Adderall and Vyvanse, found its biggest market in classrooms like Walter Whiteā€™s. As this blue speed is made and sold in anodyne corporate environments, the drama understandably focused on blue meth and its buyers, usually depicted as jittery tweakers picking at lesions and wearing rags on loan from the cannibal gangs of Cormac McCarthyā€™s The Road.

For presenting such a compelling one-sided cartoon of speed in America, Breaking Bad deserves recognition as a modern day Reefer Madness. That 1937 film immortalized the selective attentions of the first drug war, in which hysteria was stoked over Mexican marijuana but nothing was said about that eraā€™s brisk drugstore trade in Benzedrine, the patented speed of the Great Depression.

american_horror_story__asylum_by_apetrie74-d5loi6o (1)

To understand why the ā€œedgyā€ AMC drama fits so snug in the Reefer Madness mold, it helps to see the show from the perspective of pharmaceutical executives, whom I suspect held some rowdy Breaking Bad viewing parties.

Because hereā€™s the thing about hide-the-children caricatures of street speed and the class stigmas they weave: Without them, the needle starts to skip on pharmaā€™s marketing lullabies about the safety and expanding therapeutic application of their purer product. Take away Goofus and Gallant-style contrasts between backwoods Crank Zombies and suburban Adderall Aspirationals, and suddenly weā€™re having some very awkward conversations about the periodic table, addiction, and the experience of getting high.

Aside from some foul cutting material, Winnebago methamphetamine and pharmaceutical amphetamine are kissing chemical cousins. The difference between them boils down to one methyl-group molecule that lets crank race a little faster across the blood-brain barrier and kick just a little harder. After that, meth breaks down fast into good old dextroamphetamine, the dominant salt in Americaā€™s leading ADHD drug and cram-study aid, Adderall…

The common thread of Drug Prohibition has been lies and Politicised Pseudo-science inciting a public Hysteria for the express purpose of justifying the State usurping tyrannical powers in complete disregard for Rights and liberties… in the name of ‘Safety and social order’.
Socialists have convinced the Clean shaven Perfumed masses of arrogant vicious little dipshits that Pragmatism trumps just Ideals… that it’s Ok for the State to trample those whom dont share their tastes and phobias underfoot.

Even though their interventions are Catastrophic… The Liars and the Fools delude themselves that the alternative…. Liberty and an end to the War… would result in something much worse.
Western Social Democracy is a Lunatic asylum… run by sadistic psychopaths whom cloak their criminality in the garb of ‘Sisters of mercy’… and ‘Doctors.’…. they will cut the devil out of you! Their noble Ends justify their Depraved means.
(Hence my choice of ‘American Horror story’ Artwork for this Blogpost šŸ™‚ )
What is beyond insane is that the same legions of Zombies whom are happy for the State to persecute Meth dealers and users will happily allow major corporations to manufacture truckloads of the very same products and to gobble them down via Doctors prescriptions!
The very height of self delusion and hypocrisy.

Kings and Convicts. (Part 1) The Clean Slate Act.

labyrinth_goblins

Hello my Pretties,
I apologise for my recent absence and neglect….. I still love you…. believe me when I say that matters of Cosmic importance have kept me in the field… chief among them earning my ransom for the IRD.
Without blood…. calamity from on high befalls us… this is a scientific fact.

Brain hurts.

Several events have taken place in recent times which I hope to tie together in this blogpost, on an important topic which I have been meaning to address for ages…
ā€¦.The Clean slate act, and the diversion/ non-convictions of the 2nd son of the Maori King on Drinking driving and Burglary are my impetus, and to summarise my topic, I want to talk about the pretentious ā€˜mask of holinessā€™…. the cloak of ā€˜self-righteous ā€™ , which our ā€˜Special Hatā€™ wearing Political Task-Masters attempt to portray *As Real Piety*… as a supporting pillar of their personal credibility, and fitness to rule.

The ā€˜Clean slateā€™ Act is an interesting piece of legislation which raises many questions, regarding personal privacy … the right to remain silent…. and other peoples ā€˜rightā€™ to know.
I cant say that I have spent much time investigating it, or reading the debate it has generated.
I cant claim to be speaking with indifferent objectivity either when I say that IMO I think this act is an enlightened piece of legislation, yet I hope my subjective ā€˜insiderā€™ perspective adds some clarity to the topic, rather than detract from it.

I shall try to explain why in as short a space as possible as Part One … and how I tie this subject in with my main topic >>>Part two<<< , and I have now finnished off with >>>Part 3<<< This act interests me for personal reasons.... having in the past been convicted for a variety of offences... some of which I am ashamed of... :-) .... some of which I say... ā€˜was not meā€™... not because I didnā€™t commit them.... but because they happened a very long time ago, and I am ā€˜a different personā€™ today. I make no attempt to deny my guilt, nor do I deny that my convictions... in these particular matters.... were unjust. There may have been some mitigating circumstances... yet no excuses. A recent Newspaper article caught my attention, in which a representative of some employers association was upset that the Clean slate Act means that after 7 years without any further convictions that a person whom may have been convicted for theft as a servant, will not have to admit to such convictions when asked in any Job applications. They argue that this exposes employers to greater risk of suffering thefts. But is this really so? I think not. Though there may be a tiny % of Unrepentant recidivists whom manage to maintain their skulduggery in secretā€¦. flying under the radar ā€¦. to my way of thinking that is highly improbable, and it is far more rational to believe that any person whom has maintained themselves without further conviction for 7 yearsā€¦ has in fact reformed their behaviour, and has earned/ *deserves* a fresh start. This period of time was chosen because it is *long enough* to suggest that they have ā€˜turned over a new leafā€™... have learned that honesty is the best policy.... and most importantly are in reality... just as trustworthy as anyone else. Here we meet several interesting issues. Forgiveness. Reform. The delusion of piety. Faith in society base upon truth, rather than hypocritical Fakery. Forgiveness is important for society, to allow reformed criminals to re-enter society. Without such hope, why bother to reform... if the marked man is to forever remain marked, and kept in alienation? If you keep them alienated, not only do you risk imposing a punishment which is wholly out of proportion to the crime.... you also are denying the principle that a criminal can reform, and pragmatically speaking you are exposing society *to a greater risk* that this person will re-offend... because they have been effectively locked out of honest employment/ normal participation in society. The Devils rejects. Forgiveness is not only a Christian virtue, it is essential for society to heal its wounds, and progress. Nobody can force the victim of any crime to forgive the person who wronged them... even after long periods of time... after a sentence served... and after an expression of contrition, yet I would suggest that not to forgive.... is to remain wilfully a spiritual cripple... carrying a dead weight about. Obviously some crimes are harder to forgive than others, yet I would question the character of an unforgiving person whom is unwilling to grant others a fresh start considering the fact that *there is none righteous.... no not one, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God* Ie.... who among us... even those whom have never been convicted in a court of Law... is not in need of forgiveness for some evil deed we have done to our fellow man? There are only two types of human beings.... Convicted criminals and un-convicted criminals.... those whom either live above or beyond the law.... or simply those whom have never been caught... or at least successfully prosecuted. A third type we may describe as ā€™temporarily innocentā€™ only because they have not come of age. I am not suggesting that every human being poses an equal danger to the life and property of their neighbour. Obviously some people are much more virtuous than others, yet I wanted to explode the idea that just because a person *has not been convicted for theft or fraud* does not mean they have never stolen anything , or never told a lie.... *Everyone is guilty* of these crimes/ sins... and knowing this explodes the idea that a person whom has no criminal convictions is somehow more trust-worthy than someone whom has been caught and convicted. This undeniable truth is a fundamental reason that political power must be kept to a minimum... so that the evils of politicians have the least scope to wreak havoc upon the population. I will return to these ā€˜inconvenientā€™ facts about the human condition shortly. Itā€™s a fact which the self-righteous social elite and powerful desire to remain unarticulated.... ā€œTrust Me.... said the liar to the foolā€ queeny
[I actually quite like Queen Lizzy…. I posted this pic simply to portray ‘the Pomp’ of government which fills the subject with Awe and dread….. a sense of the Divine…. an unquestionable righteousness and authority to govern… engendering submission.
All Politicians, rulers, and powers attempt to portray ‘majesty’ to some degree.
It’s a part of statecraft]

When I speak of contrition, I refer to a real inner remorse… an acknowledgement of wrong doing and true repentance, not merely a regret at being caught.
And this require the perpetrator to take ownership of their crime…. that they made evil choices, for their devious selfish ends, and that though circumstances may not have made doing the right thing ā€˜easyā€™ , that none the less they made the wrong choices, which harmed others.

How a criminal may be brought to true repentance is a subject for another time.
Obviously it requires a re-shuffle of values and a restoration of faith in society… in humanity, and that living an honest, moral life is not just a Charade.
It is enough for now that I give my personal assertion…. from personal experience… that Reform is possible…. thank God.

While I reject any delusions about human perfection, or perfectibility, Reform is an essential social concept (reform / self improvement are also an important factors within Christianity) .
We are human beings smitten with the common Human lusts and aspirations, yet an individualā€™s morality and character are not genetically determined, and any theory which attempts to reduce ethics down to genes and chemicals needs to be exposed for the anti-Human Pseudo science that it is.
The people whom promote such delusions have serious prejudices, ulterior motives, and a very specific ideological agenda.

Empirically we ought to be well aware that the Human Individual is a free-will agent operating in a ā€˜ moral fieldā€™… we call society, in which our actions can and often do effect our fellow citizens… for good or ill.
This is what is meant by the term that our deeds are said to have ā€˜moral weightā€™.
Being Humans… not gods, the universe does not obey our whims, and we must navigate ourselves on the sea of life via our own compass… our personal values, wisdom, and moral convictions… or lack of them… and it is a relentless ocean, Tides and tempests, Calms, and shallows.
What defines the Human life is not the circumstances of our birth, but about how steer our ship in the seas new find ourselves in.
Circumstances may vary greatly, yet our duty as morally responsible beings is the same.
We all start off as Babesā€¦. Yet we learn, we grow,ā€¦.* we change* ā€¦ yet Objective morality remains always the same.
We embody the ethics we have chosen to embraceā€¦form one moment to the next.
Life is in Flux.
The truth is a personā€¦. As long as he has breath, can either grow in moral characterā€¦. Plateauā€¦. Or regress.
A persons behaviour can be effected by many thingsā€¦ yet can only really be said to be moral when life is lived well *consciously* and freely.
Thus many people live as passive obedient sheepā€¦ never ending up in court ā€¦. Not because of true pietyā€¦ inner convictions that certain actions are truly evil, But out of fearā€¦. Fear of becoming Social outcastesā€¦. Fear of prison, or a fear of nihilistic lawlessness.
The system doesā€™t careā€¦.. These flocks of sheeple obey their mastersā€¦. And delude themselves this slavish conformity is in fact a virtueā€¦ to the degree that they believe anything is really virtuousā€¦ a great percentage of them dutifully embrace what their ā€˜Liberalā€™ educators teachā€¦. That everything is merely culturally relative ā€¦ and that societies Lawsā€¦ and all things ā€˜Moralā€™ā€¦ are merely the convenient constructs of the social orderā€¦ which is the highest power in the universe and may dictate anything whatsoever it deems to be in the best interest of the collective organism.

Yes our society is filledā€¦. Top to toe with this *Fake moral Pietyā€¦. And Slavery*

If that is all there isā€¦. The belief that that is all there is ā€¦ is not a sufficient foundation for a Free, Civil, and just society!
Not only does such a corrosive anti-ideology- ideology undermine the credibility of living a good and decent lifeā€¦ rendering Society a giant fraudā€¦ and morality merely a tool for the ruling eliteā€¦. Protecting the havesā€¦ from the have-notsā€¦. This becomes the excuseā€¦. The vindication for the mass production of Evil legislations and tyrannyā€¦. Which not only directly treads souls underfoot, it also energizes the mass production of ā€˜Criminals and outcastesā€™ whom either take this philosophy as truthā€¦ embracing lawlessness as the ultimate truthā€¦.rejecting Civilisation as a gimmickā€¦ Or conversely those brave individualists whom retain a faith in objective moralityā€¦. Yet reject the authority of the State to impose laws upon them ā€¦. Prohibitions, Exactions, or Compulsions which they believe are unjustā€¦. Thus it is is not only the Amoral whom can find themselves outsiders, and criminalised, but the truly virtuous and moralā€¦. Which is why people like Jesus, and Socratesā€¦. were executed as criminals.

Anyway, I have digressed somewhatā€¦. I think the point that sometimes society, and the Law can be in the wrongā€¦. And the so-called criminals in the right was worth making.
When the law is corruptā€¦ The Real Criminals are in powerā€¦ feigning pietyā€¦. Wolves in sheepā€™s clothing.
I also think it was worthwhile touching upon the consequences of a society which embraces toxic ideasā€¦ how that tends towards injustice and chaos.

Do you believe any crimes are truly Objectively Evil or are all crimes merely rebellions against subjective social/cultural norms?

A person whom is raised to believe Toxic / amoral/ nihilistic Ideas is sailing his ship witout a compass, and is a person capable of committing crimes and atrocitiesā€¦. Likewise any person whom ā€˜looses faithā€™ in societyā€¦. And the value of enlightened, civilised, and humanitarian ideals ā€¦. Is someone whom has thrown his compass overboardā€¦ and can descend into real criminality.

Yet let me also say that a person whom may have been living a directionless chaotic existence for a very long time can find a moral ā€˜north starā€¦. And straighten out there courseā€¦ and begin to consciously navigate ā€¦

Enlightenment and reform are as real and as valid as any fall from grace into darkness.
Humanity has the capacity not only for descending into debaucheryā€¦. But to escape it too should they find the reasonā€¦. The will, and the faith to do so.

People can change for the better.
Savages can learn, and embrace civilisation.
Sinners can Repent.

Social reform is possibleā€¦ and the ā€˜Clean slateā€™ act is all about motivating this personal improvement.
Itā€™s about justiceā€¦. And a better, safer, society.

king and son

I will say that most of the things I have written today come from my personal journeyā€¦ into crimeā€¦. And out again.

I have already dragged this out way too farā€¦. I will have to stop here and make this the end of Part one.
Tomorrow, or the next day I will write part two and tie this rave in with the latest travesty of Justice with regards to Korotangi Paki escaping Justice .
Though I have many criticisms of what has transpired, it is not my intension to write a Guile filled spiel of condemnation upon him and the Tainui Monarch.
I will include aspects of my own situationā€¦ and how I have stood for election many timesā€¦. In spite of my own criminal past.
I will be so presumptuous as to offer the King some adviseā€¦.
I actually have something positive to say
But for now enough has been saidā€¦. I will have to tidy this (part 1) up somewhat later… its time for nigh nighs….

Brain hurts…
